Canadian Experience Class Program

The Canadian Experience Class Program (CEC) is an immigration process under the Express Entry system. It is a specially developed program for people with more than 1 year of Canadian work experience and looking to permanently settle in Canada. The Canadian Experience Class program (CEC) also has certain eligibility criteria that people need to meet to be considered eligible. Wondering whether you’re eligible or not?

Canadian Experience Class Program – Eligibility

Below is a list of criteria that determines whether you’re a person is eligible for permanent residency under the Canadian Experience Class Program. Have a look.

Skilled Work Experience – For an applicant to be eligible for the Canadian Experience Class Program, he/she must possess at least 1 year of skilled work experience in Canada. This experience should be in the last 3 years before applying and also must be – Full time or Part-time (proof of the equal amount of working hours is necessary). The applicant also needs to possess the lead statement of the occupational description in the NOC listing along with essential duties.

Education – Similar to the FST program, the CEC has no minimum education requirement mentioned as per regulations. But applicants can always increase the chances of selection can follow the requirements of the FSW Program.

Language Ability – Applicants under the CEC program must meet the required minimum language level of – (i) Canadian Language Benchmark 7 for NOC 0 or A jobs and (ii) Canadian Language Benchmark 5 for NOC B jobs. He/she also needs to take approved language tests to prove proficiency in speaking, listening, reading and also writing.
